a lit’ral origin story
setting the scene
Not your mama’s cross stitch, however scene-stitcher is a tribute to my late mom’s crafty skills, loving legacy, and immigrant spirit. She taught me the fundamentals long ago for my first Tweety cross stitch, and I requested a refresher during what ended up being our last Thanksgiving together.
When I saw black Aida cloth I realized I could mimic film stills and combine cross stitch with my graphic design experience and pop culture obsessions: self-care for me, smiles all around. We kicked things off during the pandemic and can’t stop, won’t stop, now.

Is there an appropriate time for Comic Sans?
No, unless you are fully throwing shade at Comic Sans.
Do you accept commission requests?
Generally, original patterns take a long while to design, though criteria will vary. Your best bets are small-scale ideas and popular references with plenty of lead time… message me!
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes, and fo’ free! If you’re in the Lincoln, Nebraska area select pickup during checkout and we’ll figure out a top-secret drop.
What materials do you stitch with?
First of all, I place prepositions where I please. Second, virtually all finished pieces here utilize DMC cotton floss on Charles Craft 14-count Aida cloth.
What about hoop frames?
I mean, they’re cute, but this control freak prefers a picture frame that’s easy to display and helps protect from dust and natural oils. Here for a good time and a long time.
Are you the Zodiac killer?
